  • Lima PD Fentanyl Warning

The Lima Police Department has issued a warning on Facebook against the dangers of tainted marijuana after receiving their fourth overdose call in six days.
Fentanyl has been one of the reason the opioid epidemic has grown so much in Ohio. Now the police department is warning the public of a new risk, that people are unknowingly consuming marijuana mixed with fentanyl that can cause the user to accidentally overdose or become addicted.
Sgt. Nick Hart warns, "People are getting ahold of marijuana that has fentanyl you are actually, unknowingly becoming addicted to opioid and fentanyl itself, therefore making marijuana exactly what people are arguing against, the literal gateway drug."
The sergeant warns that the only way to fully protect yourself from accidentally coming in contact with these drugs, is to completely avoid them.
